We need help in identifying this Ceramic Pot. It was brought over from North Carolina, and given to my husbands Aunt, and Uncle in the 1930's, but are not sure what type of pot this is called.

The pot stands at 15 1/2" tall, the mouth measures at 9"wide, and the widest part in the middle is about 9 3/4" w.

Any help in identifying this would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you.

      Possibly a pickling jar.

Hi Lisa. Very nice. I wonder if it once had a lid. Do you think its salt glaze, a lot of these kind of old containers were. But this looks a bit different, odd its black inside.

Apparently, it did not have a lid. Not even sure if it's salt glaze. Hopefully someone out there will recognize this, and be able to tell us what it is. Thank you kindly for your interest and help!...Sincerely, Lisa
