I just bought this clock at an estate sale. It has no marking on the front or back. It is made of oak and stands about 22 1/2 inches tall and is 15 inches wide. It has gold etching/paint on the glass of a crane scene. It strikes on the hour and half hour.
Love the clock, the oil lamp, and the little brass birdie too.
Thanks....Got the oil lamp at the same sale. Any idea on the clock maker?
If you mechanically inclined, there's probably only one way to be 100%.... but will wait to say...until others have a chance to chime in...someone might recognize the dial configuration and know right away....as for me I'm torn between Ingraham and Seth Thomas...but probably wrong on both accounts :-)
There are just so many models of "Gingerbread" clocks it would be helpful to get a little more information to go on. I didn't see it in my Ingraham reference book and I'm not sure if those "Maltese" hands are original. I'll follow Kerry's lead on this...
Mine is almost identical, just inherited it! It is a WELCH mantle clock... Sorry my pic is upside down.. The only difference is some of the wood work but the cranes are the same... It's missing the key, but if I manually move the hands to the hour and half hour, it chimes.....
