This nice little cabinet vase just arrived from France. 90mm tall, orange Astglas, ca. 1900. Astglas is not listed as a decor on this shape in the Loetz Series II Paper Patterns for Glass, but it is listed for the same shape in the larger size (PN II-291 - 140mm). Candia (clear) ground - fire polished rim, ground and polished pontil.
There are a couple of interesting clues on the paper pattern - this shape in ozon cisele came in two enameled Deks - I/133 and I/154 (currently not identified), and on Merkur in Dek I/13, which is shown on Loetz.com. I will be on the lookout for this shape in other colors with enameled decoration!
The third photo shows this piece next to another Astglas vase in my collection, PN II-739 - also ca. 1900.
Lovely....:)
Beauty!
Handles and feet always add interest and value. I love the Astglas line. Very underappreciated. Very nice examples Warren.
love the cylinder shape the the dimpled bottom in the third image! Wish that was in my collection.
;)
If it will make you feel any better, I was prepared to go much higher :)
