I found this in an old box of jewelry. Can anyone tell me what the process is of wrapping the stone with the chain? I believe the stone is jade or jadite. I have looked everywhere for this style and I have come up empty. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I can see how they wrapped it ,looks quite easy . They are using 4 strands and stopping them at beads then add a new set of 4 strands the divide in strands hold the bead. It is not all one piece of cloth rope . It looks like cloth on photo not metal chain ? although same principle would appy to a metal chain , Unique and very nice !

Thanks, it is a metal chain. It might be Victorian. I found something similar that had brass links instead of chain. I also have a matching necklace with a larger carved jade green apple pendant (I think) using the same technique.

      Is it not turquoise?

It might be turquoise but its really green. In the photo it looks blue/green. I also have a matching necklace with a single green circle and a carved cherry and leaf pendant. I'm still looking for someone to tell me the age. Thanks for commenting.
