This item is baffling all of us as to what it is. It is heavy glass, shaped like a bell. I think it might be a bell shaped hand held candle snuffer but others think I am wrong. Can anyone out there help me figure out what this thing is. There is no missing clanger or any debris from a clanger being glued in the top of this item. Here are the measurements

height 6 inches, bottom diameter is 2.75 inches, the internal height of the snuffing hollow is about 3.5 inches.

    Thank you for your help.

      ditto; maybe footless wine/cordial/shot glass

looks that way. These come in handy when doing shots; ya have to down the shot before you lay the glass down : )

I think they used to be used at the florists shop. You know the little plastic ones they use now that actually have lids... These held the water for the flower arrangements. A friend of mine recently gave me one that looks very similar if I remember correctly, and that's what he said they were. If I could find the darn thing I'd show it to you.

Although icollect & TC could be correct and my friend was just pulling my leg???

my sister had a flower shop for years and did use something like small test tubes for flowers. These look to be a bit too heavy for floral use.

This reminds me of those retro round bar sets where the decanter was in the center surrounded by a tray with holes in it to hold the glasses.

Thank you for the help, I believe I may have found it. Appears to be of Polish origin known as a KULAWKA, this was a vessel used for toasting to ones health, usually by royalty or guest, the glass was passed around until all had sipped to the good health of the person being honored.
