I am hoping to find somebody that knows the original color that this candy machine was. Someone I know is trying to restore it and we are coming up empty handed

If you wet a cloth with mild soap rub a small spot. You should be able to find a spot that comes up. Or behind a peice of trim.

There is a restored version on google search - done in a dark red (maroon) color with gold pinstripe. Also the "Candy" print on the mirror. - You are missing the pull-lever or button panel. - Weren't these originally dip-painted, not spray-painted? Maybe inside still has the original color (or behind the mirror)

Looks like a Rowe machine . your knobs are missing , But Red is color . This one was restored so not sure if they used color of original one as maroon vs red .
