I FOUND THIS UNUSUAL ARTS AND CRAFTS ERA. PIECE LAST WEEKEND AT A FLEA. I'M THINKING MID TO LATE 1800's OR EVEN EARLIER. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS, OTHER THEN IT APPEARS TO BE A VASE. I WOULD LOVE FIND OUT ANYTHING ABOUT THIS PIECE. WHOEVER MADE THIS PIECE MUST OF TOOK THEM HOURS TO MAKE. THE VASE HAS six-sided polygon MIRRORED PANELS AROUND THE SIDE AND SIX SMALLER ONES JUST BELOW THEM ON THE BASE. THE BASE IS MADE OF WOOD WITH TIN WRAPPED AROUND IT WITH LITTLE NAILS TO HOLD THE TIN IN PLACE . THE BASE HAS AN OLD SLOT HEAD SCREW IN THE CENTER OF THE BASE. THE PIECE STANDS 13" INCHES HIGH . THE BASE IS 5"1/4 INCHES ACROSS - UNIDENTIFIED MIRRORED OBJECT. "HELP ID" THANK YOU
As you say, a lot of work in this!
Thanks for your comment racer4four. Have any guesses on what it was used for or who made it?
No idea sorry,
Stab in the dark - somewhere in a church?
