Im not entirely sure what this is but I thought it was unusual & for 25p had to buy it !!
I initially thought maybe a tea light with the holes but theres a bottom to it so I think its some sort of vase ?? There are nine holes on three sides and of course the hole in the top which is 15mm , its round at the bottom & top but six sided around the middle so wouldv been quite hard to make, made from a creamy coloured clay with a green speckly matt glaze finish, the bottom has a mark as in pictures, looks like LA OR EJ or AJ in monogramme with a dot beneath inside an upside down triangle..
ive been looking for this mark for hours but no luck yet !!
Info welcome please :-)especially if you think you know what it is ??

I think it may be a flower frog vase? Best guess. I do not recognize the hallmark. :(

I'm with MrsWarren..... You could put a lot of long stemmed flowers in all those openings. It would look spectacular !

I would use this just as a foliage vase - love the squared off shape and the colour is great too!

Thanks racer4four for your comments .. sounds like a good idea !! I think it would look nice with a bit of both - flowers & foliage. ? Cheers sd

Try rubbing some white powder (talc) of any source to highlight mark....OR you can also try ( ashes) for dark highlight to see which you get for a better highlight of the mark.....and repost for us.

I can not tell what the mark is as need a clearer pic.....to me .....mark Looks like *Beehive in a Triangle* right now to me..............LOL

the location of the holes on the sidewalls would seem to work well as a flower frog vase. I've seen similar pieces sold as a potpourri vase/pot.

Thanx Tallcakes for your commentsi think Potpourri wouldnt fit through the hole !! Its definatly a flower frog and will look great with a mix of foliage and flowers .. I could always put incense sticks in every hole and make my house stink!!! Ha !! Lol :-)))

I think it was made in Germany by Waechtersbach between the late 19th-early 20th century. Here’s a link to a piece showing the mark in the stamp, not impressed form.

Thank you again maryh1956, ill try and get a clearer picture of the mark as its definatly a letter "A" in the upturned triangle not a bee hive mark ,
many many thanx for looking :-) sd
