When I got to Salvation Army this morning Jean from production said " I got something I want you to look at for me. It's a big Asian vase " I said OK but I can tell you right now I already want it ! This is what was waiting in the back on the counter. A very large famille noire baluster vase. Beautifully decorated with pheasants and peonies on one side and a pomegranate tree with little sparrows and butterflies on the other. I love the way the fruit is partially eaten with the birds sitting among it's branches. It stands 25" tall and is about 10" in diameter at the shoulders. There are no marks just a black # 13 and a couple of tiny dots. This makes number three in my large vase collection. I'm pretty sure it's one of the China, Hong Kong, Macau vases made for export from the late 20th century. I just love these imposing pieces for their shapes and beautiful designs. -Mike-
