The thing that attracted me to this, my first Cephalonia vase, was the art nouveau metal mounting. I don't have a lot of that sort of thing, but the Cephalonia decor, which is designed to resemble ancient glass, lends itself well to patinated mountings. A variant of Cephalonia actually has an enameled faux-patina finish fired on in enamel. That variant is called "Cephalonia mit patinadekor". This vase is your basic Cephalonia - 5" tall, Olympia ground with a slag-type inner layer that burst when the vase was blown into shape. Fire polished rim; ground and polished pontil. No marks on the metal mount, save for a single stamped number. An identical vase to this one is shown on Loetz.com.
If anyone has any leads on the production number, or the maker of the metal mount, please let me know.
Nice snag Warren, I was really contemplating this piece.

STUNNING VASE !!!!
Thank you all - Brian, I know how hard Cephalonia is to come by, and I figured if this turned out to be my only example, it would be a nice one to have. :)

The stand is a beautiful compliment to the wonderful shape and color treatment of the vase. Stunning!
Wow, beautiful!!! Finally able to get online and see what people are posting. Currently traveling in Europe (since 6/28) so will be "loving" a lot once we return to the states on 7/30.
