Side Table or Dresser - Not sure. Looks like some Tiger Maple on the Drawers. Joints are Dove-tails. Legs have cast iron wheels on them. Victorian? I do not think the knobs are original, IMHO. Any ideas, as it would be greatly appreciated. Had this piece for about 10 years now.....only now going to try to research it via CW

P.S. - Yes I (and everything here) collect Dust .....LOL. Where is that MAID??

    Thanks for looking!!

I tried dusting everything once after someone asked me how long it takes to dust everything. Had to end that project after a month and that was just one room.

From what I can see I would guess it was probably made sometime around 1930's possibly a little earlier. Difficult to see if those are pinned dovetails of if it was done after the fact. The piece is too new to have cove and pin. It does show a minor step down and a pretty good step up on the drawers which is pretty much how I am guessing the age. The metal casters were eliminated when WWII started due to supply issues for civilian use. It has seen some rework as it has totally different plates on the front. I would think the one to the right is probably original due to the color and shape.

I just enlarged this and I don't think either of the face plates are original.
    12. antiquerose antiquerose, 10 years ago
Which do you mean when you say Face Plates....the different color of wood that looks like tiger maple?
    13. fhrjr2 fhrjr2, 10 years ago
Yes, to the left and right of the raised panel in the center top.

They are both the same color, it is just the photo that makes them look that way. It is in a dark corner, and I had to use my flash...
    15. fhrjr2 fhrjr2, 10 years ago
In spite of that look at the way they are cut. Two totally different designs with opposing grain to everything else.
