    At first i thought this was a charger, but it's so deep and thick that i think it may be a basin of some sort. I don't know much about Italian pottery, particularly majolica, so any info will be appreciated.

      I question whether it was used for pasta. The chipping of the glaze would not be welcome in you pasta. I think more decorative. I have one but it is signed and numbered. When I get time I will post it. Cheers, Kirk

      thanks artistinside. i also question that for the same reasons. plus, it seems like there was an urn or something in it at one time, because there is such a lip on the black part.
