I think of these three as belonging together - they seem to be designed by the same person. All are made in Germany and all have oversized eyes and bases which include the bottom of the pot.
The first is pale blue or grey luster with attached base for the chicks emerging from eggshells. The base is marked Germany and incised 7161. Although the spoon is missing, its top would likely have been the bottom of the central bird's beak. The set is 3.5" tall and 4" wide.
The second, also pale blue or grey luster is a hen sitting in a tannish gold basket. Attached to the base are two half egg shells in which the little luster gold chick s&ps rest. The hen's body ends in a darker blue tail. The top half of the hen - the pot lid - has painted green beak and one wing - the other wing is the top of the spoon. The bottom is marked Germany and incised 7915. It measures 2-3/4" tall and 3.5" long.
(I love this one because of the wing spoon. I've seen so many where the tongue is the spoon, and it always hangs so low I think of Kali - but when the spoon becomes part of the design, like this wonderful wing, I am inordinately pleased at finding it complete.)
Next is the luster gold parrot with green crest, blue beak and blue and yellow wing tips. This one is marked Germany 4 and incised 7900. The base has attached yellow luster bodies for the little blue beaked chicks. There is no spoon, but I like to think it would have ended in a green curling feather to join the green crest of the lid. It is 3-1/4" tall and 4.5" long.
More to enjoy and admire and smile at! Thankyou!
