There is just something about owls! Is it that they seem to have such huge eyes?? Maybe that is why I have so many of them in my collection.

The lusterware green set is so beautifully painted. It has the TT in joined diamonds mark on the bottom of the base and pot, with "Hand Painted Made in Japan" circled around it. The base is green with a gold luster inside bottom. The black line suggesting the wings on the pot and s&p forms a large spiral - lovely! The set consists of six pieces including a metallic gold spoon. It is 3.5" tall & the tray is 8.5" wide.

The blue luster set in the leaf shaped tray is marked "Made in Japan" on the bottom of the tray, and "Japan" on each of the s&ps. The owl cheeks on the lid fit into little fingertip indentations on the base - sweet. The six piece set includes a luster blue spoon. It measures 3.5" tall and the base is 5.5" long.

The pale blue-grey luster set is marked "Erphila Germany" on the bottom of the base and pot. The pot is incised but the number is unreadable. The tray is white with gold metallic trim. The s&p owls have brown beaks and toes, and the pot has black toes ... and the black beak is the top of the spoon. Another delightful design addition of making the spoon part of the figure. However, if the spoon was missing, it would destroy the beauty of the set. The set measures 3" tall with a 4" long tray.

This lonely orphan owl is most likely the mustard pot for a set like the others shown. He is a tan luster and is incised on the side "Germany 8185." He came without a spoon (I added a new one), but if he had his original one I like to think it would be topped by a little blue tail to match his wings. It measures 2.5" tall.

Hello! I am interested in your little orphan... I believe I may have one of his relatives...
I am brand new to this site. As soon as I figure out how to post a photo, maybe we can have a chat.
      :)
