I have searched the internet with no results trying to find out if this box is for silver, jewelry or sewing. I purchased this at a thrift store in Virginia for $ 8.00. The measurements are 21" long . 18" tall and 12 3/4 wide. It looks like the lining is very old felt. Some of the picks are before and after I applied some lemon oil to help the dried out wood. Thanks in advance for any info.
Might this be a canteen for silver cutlery?
I am not commenting on age, construction any longer but I think Phil D pretty well hit this one. Nice piece at a good price also.
