These bud vases by Swedish company Alsterfors Glasbruk come in three sizes and when not labeled are often mistaken for Whitefriars (and vice versa).
My Alsterfors vase and my Whitefriar's here are different heights but they do come in a range of quite similar sizes, and colours can also be similar.
The shape is different - the knops on the Alsterfors are not round like Whitefriars, instead have four sides pushed in to them.
The body of the vase is also rounder than Whitefriars.
I previously posted the Whitefriars vase.
It is 25cm (10in) high.
The Alsterfors vase is 20cm (8in)
what a very beautiful piece!!!
I love it A LOT!
Thanks Austro and Sean for your nice comments. I like the Alsterfors a lot myself.
your very welcome Karen :)
Beautiful. I just don't understand why, well, I guess I do...haha I'm sitting here answering myself! Just a comment about the stickers. I suppose it would be too time consuming and too much breaking going on to mark them with more permanence.
I agree - stickers can be a PIA! Wish things were signed or at least acid etched!
I am happy to have stickers and if there is none that's OK if I can still identify the piece. Otherwise I sit here at CW asking lots of clever people for help!
