I been waiting to get one of these for some time now. But the only ones I found were damaged, cleaned, over priced, not complete, or non-functional. I'd say I made out well with this fully functional & naturally patinated brass hardware $4.99 kerosene lamp. I SUPER dig it! >.<

It's a nice find. The Plume & Atwood burner is missing the cap/dome but you should be able to find one at flea markets/ second-hand stores. The insert collar indicates a post-1911 manufacture and this particular utilitarian "Country/colonial" lamp was retailed through Hardware and Co-op stores in the depression years. RER(BOB)

Just about can't beat that! How old would you say this one is? Any idea? I hear that at the very top of the top part is what shows the age, if it's thin and smooth-without a "lip", but I don't really know and I'm just curious.

The Chimney is what you are referring to I suppose. You can't date lamps by the chimneys since they were regularly replaced/broken if used over a long period of time. There are some old etched/frosted/cut chimneys from the late 1800's that you can pretty well date to that time. Old pie-crust (crimped-top) chimney were blown so they can be dated to a certain time period. Plain machine made chimneys like this one are difficult to date. I would date this lamp to the 1930-40's. They are not uncommon. BOB

Thanks loumanal. Good info and I was thinking about how easily the chimney breaks as I was typing that. (didn't know by name, but it makes sense :),
I'll get to mine and post it soon, hopefully I can get some ideas on it too. Tom has a nice one here.
