    Haven't a clue about this sword except it was found in a house in Brooklyn ny . It's about3feet long and sharp at the tip. Would like to know the country of origin

      Looks to be a M1860 Staff and Field Officers sword. They are flimsy and purely ceremonial and found useage outside of the military (fraternal groups).

      These are fairly plentiful and were made from the Civil War- 1900, BUT most out there post- date the Civil War. Yours looks to be a later example.

      The manufacturer markings MAY help to narrow the dating.
