Antique table lamp. Either ceramic or porcelain (something breakable). Got from my parents, and have a photo of my mom holding me as a baby (I'm nearly 60 now) with the lamp beside her on a table. Anyone have any ideas about it?

Would you be able to post a photo of the base? Helps identify pieces.
Also is there any European family in your background where this may have originated?

The base has an opening covered with green felt. As you can see from the photo, the felt has been torn where the opening exists. From what I can tell -without tearing off the felt completely - the base is just white but is rough; doesn't have the glaze that's on the outside of the lamp.

I'll try to post a photo. (I'm new to the site, so will have to figure out how to do that!)
