    I found this beauty today at a little antique store in San Francisco. The price was high, but not for a piece like this. it's about 7 ft tall x 7 or 8 ft wide. Art Deco, i assume. i have no idea what it's from, but i'm going to use it for the backsplash for an outdoor potting bench i'm building for a client in Alameda.

      thank you AmberRose and walksoftly! i'm very excited about the piece and think it is wonderful old deco wrought iron - maybe a fence, gate, or grate fragment? what do you think?

      It's possible that it had no practical purpose as there doesn't appear to be any mounting brackets/hardware.
      Perhaps it was made to showcase the builders talents.
