I brought this (silver, not sure) bangle many years ago in Nairobi in a out door market. As you can see from the photos it has a very intricate filigree. I think it may be from the Middle East, but I'm not sure. If any body can tell me more about it, please do. I've always been very interested in this bangle but never really known where to go to find out information.
I'm not sure but the little bells or balls makes me think of jewelry from India. I have a post with a ring with bells like that, look at it and see the answers given to me there. The filigree is wonderful.
Yes, I think your right about it coming from India. In Kenya there is a big Indian community, they came over to build the railway. Then most stayed in Kenya. I've alway thought it was from there or the Middle East. It does looks very ethic. I not sure if it's a bracelet or a anklet, the reason I think it might be a anklet is that it has the bell type things, similar to you ring. All interesting stuff. Tomorrow I'll look up some of the information that's on you site. Thanks.
At last, I have spent hours, days, researching this bracelet. It is a silver antique Bedouin hinged filigree bracelet from Yemen. I have had this bracelet about 25 years, never knowing anything about it. I have say I did think it came from India. But, fact this bracelet is from the Yemen, result at last

Thank you for your comment Phil. I did see a similar bracelet on ebay recently, it was in far better condition than this one. In my own humble opinion this bracelet has charm and as had a life. I did originally think it was Indian, after many hours of research it is of Bedouin origin from the Yemen.
Many thanks
