Can anyone please tell me anything about this chest.
It was bought at an auction by my brother in law approx 20 yrs ago.
its hard to read but the lock on this chest says
    Eagle Lock Company
    USA
    Terryville
I havnt yet seen one with this picture inside the lid, it also comes with a lift tray.

I would think the approx measurements are 30 in long x 20 tall x 10 - 15 in wide thats a rough guess as I am unable to measure right now.

Hello. You have a canvas covered trunk from 1910 - 1920 or thereabouts. Nice condition, entry level trunk that could of been made by one of many trunk makers of the time. Tough to know without a makers label, or tag. The chromalithograph (picture) is fairly common for that time period and like other trunk lithos, the picture was chosen at random, having nothing to do with the intended buyer. The lock is from Eagle lock Co. a major maker of all types of locks (not just luggage related) I have a catalog from around that time period and it has over 630 pages, and that is just the trunk and suitcase locks catalog. So yeah, they were pretty big.
You can view some trunk catalog pictures on my site at, http://hmsantiquetrunks.com/trunk-catalog-images.html

      Thank you,
