This is a beautifully made dresser that has a locking feature. The metal key is unique itself. Does anyone know how to tell its age and value?
Thank You

If you could photo the joints inside drawer , how the front panel was attached to sides of drawer as our wood person fhr will ask :-)
He would also like a clear picture of the castors on this piece. I can't see them well but believe it or not they can date the piece if original. This isn't an antique yet but I think it is getting there.
and he needs close up of castors too ! :-)
Good afternoon to you fhr , glad you heard me call :-)
Actually it was either reply or mow the backyard.........what can I say? Duty called.
So did you mow the yard yet ? I bet it is pretty hot there today !
Well..........not exactly...I did think about it and went out for a look. Never rush into things, always think first. I am in think mode. Not super hot mid 90's but low humidity and a nice breeze coming in off the Gulf of Mexico. Would have been a good day to go to the beach sight seeing. Naturally I only look at the water.
Sure fhr watching those waves break would be your soul reason to go to beach <wink>
I was never in the Navy but there are some nice "waves" there.
You need to understand I like to keep an eye on the environment. Thongs I mean Things change and we need to be aware of sudden changes. I try to do my part. I will suffer through it.
Well someone has to do the dirty work so it is so generous of you to volunteer your services fhr :-)
I do what I can.......did you notice how the cameras on these new phones can zoom in? Makes it easy to record beach erosion.
No I don't have a fancy phone I still use a land line lol fhr no photo's will come out no matter how hard I try !
Land lines here are so old and so dry rotted you can't even get a dial tone. I used wire cutters to cure the problem. Verizon wouldn't upgrade and they were the only option. Then they wouldn't pull the wire so I helped them. In Florida anything attached to or within one foot of your house you own. Exception being the electric meter. But that didn't cover the off peak monitor which was screwing us. Took two days to figure the wires out but it is gone and the electric bill is half what it used to be.
I will have to get a pic of the casters. Let me know if the pics of the drawers are ok, if not I will take a few more. Thank you
The drawers were machine cut which would indicate this was made at some point after the mid 1940's. I would think probably very late 40's or early 50's. Most don't have a key or working locks as the keys got lost and the locks were either painted over or other finish that leaked down into them which gummed them up.
