"The Four Seasons of Life" 1868 Currier and Ives Lithographs / Framed 21"x 17"/ Circa 19th-20th Century

I saw these at Salvation Army and pondered about them for a day or so and decided to go for it. They are Currier and Ives lithographs of "The Four Seasons of Life." from 1868. Each has a season and a title. "Childhood" Spring, "Youth" Summer, "Middle Age" Autumn and "Old Age" Winter. They look like the real thing to me. No reproduction notation at all. Just all the right info from what I've seen online. Not very brightly colored except for the one which has a strong red on the table cloth and the little girl's dress. The others look tinted but with very subtle colors. They're nicely mounted in a gold and olive green frames. The prints lay on top of the green border background paper. The backs are sealed with black art board stapled to the frame. There's no label on the back so I have no clue where they came from but it looks professionally done. As I was paying for them one of the other clerks told me a gentlemen was looking at them yesterday and said they looked real to him but would be worth more if they had brighter colors. I've seen them all different ways so who knows, but at least I got a bit of encouragement from her story. -Mike-
