Hi there guys just got these and I'm hoping to see if you guys think original or Repros. They both appear to be WW2 German Luftwaffe Insignia pieces. The larger piece intrigues me cause it has Troyes "44" signed into it. I believe that was in France where a strategic battle took place between US vs German troops. I was hoping to see what you guys thought and what would that larger cloth piece be part of uniform?
Have you ck'd the cloth out under a black lite? Don't know what the hell that does but everybody into this stuff says to do it. LOL. Honestly, I've never had a reason in the past to do that & don't have a black-lite. Think modern synthetics & threads glow. Know of a kinky use for one, let me know & I'll get one.
The larger one appears to have been cut out of something like a guidon for a unit. Nice pieces. Don't forget your special close friend BB2 if you want to trade. I keep forgetting that I'm trying to lighten my load, but things like this cause involuntary Kegel excercises!
I see that the date corresponds maybe to when the. 3rd army under Patton took back that city in 1944. I'm gonna see what I can find.
Yes Whitman, please. I find this very interesting but don't have the time right now. I will burn a special blessing offering for your goats & chickens. LOL
So I had an expert tell me they are both original and funny he did the light test you asked blunder. He believes the smaller one was a breast eagle and the larger one was one that would have been attached to an athletic type of shirt both are Luftwaffe. He also was intrigued by the dated piece and city. If this piece was taken by someone in Pattons 3rd Army it makes it considerable more collectable.
