    (158 items)

Picked this guy up from Ebay . I have been researching this but have only found two on the internet both from the same auction house. One was signed A.Walter- Nancy and was listed as Almeric Walter. The other was unsigned and listed as Tiffin. This piece is unsigned. Any info would be appreciated !

The art work on this piece is amazing. It's quite the conversation piece!!

Walter did pate de verre, and this is pressed so it's quite safe to assume it's not that.

      Hello everybody,
This piece was not made by Amalric (and not "Almeric") WALTER. This is neither a "pâte de verre" technique. This piece is a fake Amalric WALTER that was already put at auction on eBay (12/5/2010). It is not worth $30.00 (and it was offered on eBay for $800.00...).
Please, go to amalric-walter.net for more informations on fakes.
      Best wishes to all.

so do you know who made this 'reproduction/fake' piece. The website noted is VERY difficult to navigate (especially in English) and I find no specific reference to this item.
    9. groswann groswann, 10 years ago
These reproductions are often made in eastern Europe. But some fakers live in the USA as well.
I find that the amalric-walter.net website is not so bad because there are lots of pages in English/American. And this is not so frequent with French spoken people !
Anyway you are right : this piece is not described on this site (as it is said, 70% of the pieces are fake but the site will apparently begin the descriptions from 1st January 2014). What makes me say it is a fake is its abnormal transparency and that it was never seen at auction until 2010 (eBay). Moreover, it is clear that the technique is not pâte de verre but moulded glass.

so it is just your opinion that this is a fake, and is not specifically mentioned on the website? I really have not idea but am fairly certain that Tiffin never had anything to do with any reproductions. Do agree that this is possibly a well done fake but no one has really offered any real proof.

The combination of English and French makes that site difficult to navigate. Successful multilingual sites typically have separate webpages devoted to each language.

I have been collecting of AW pâtes de verre for 20 years (more than 100 items so far). This piece is exactly the same as the one on eBay which was spuriously signed AW. Another, signed the same way, was at auction in USA a few years ago.

That is in a cardboard box I spray painted black...experimenting with different colored backgrounds. And it is taken under white light ... unfortunately it is not uranium glass .

I have one in amethyst color. It came from an estate we liquidated 22 years ago. The man had about five hundred pieces of art glass. Most were authentic but he also had a lot of reproductions.
