I love old trunks, and no better way to use them than to store items in them, and stack them up....LOL.
Then the stack itself becomes a Display item......being packed full. LOL
Love the old Sticker too.
What years might some of these be from?
I love old trunks and suitcases too!
Antique rose, love this stack. Well the top trunk has the sticker of the Canadian Pacific Railway( swift current station Sask.) built in 1907(building 1), but the sticker is the "Express" that is building 3 built in 1912 but operated into the 50s (source: wikapedia). This would be a good place to start with dating. The 3rd trunk down has a sticker that can't be read from the pictures, but this could give other clues.I would not be surprised if these travel trunks(top three) were made in Canada as these locks, corners and handles have a French influence of design. But this is only using the S.W.A.G. principle( scientific wild ass guessing) love the look.
My name is Pat Perry and I have a steamer trunk and an old humpback trunk that someone has painted the metal inserts on it blue and I would like to restore it back to the original tin color. Any suggestions on how to keep the metal from rusting? email pattycake8080@yahoo.com
