Boo!! Hoo!! Sob sob!!!
I picked this up at the tip & it had a hairline crack but hardly noticeable til I got home and whilst taking the photo of it my sons 14 week old collie dog decided he'd use it as a stepping stone!!! Sadly now its a two piece plate!!! Made I think in the late 19th c early 20th c
I love majolica and have a few pieces , I have no idea where or who made it but I know its very old (and broken) is it a maple leaf ???
Any info much appreciated ;-)
Thanx racer4four, vetrao50 .. it was a lovely piece !! Or shall I say pieces! Lol
;-)
What shame :( surfdub66...... It still is beautiful. Get out the glue and do your best :) I love majolica and have some pieces in my collection too. I'll guess this is 19th century English possibly Wedgwood. Really love the foot rim detail very "Art Nouveau". The maple leaf was used by Wedgwood on their solid green plate. You also have fern and dogwood blossoms on this piece. I feel your pain. -Mike-

Thanx mikelv85 for the love & welcomed comments , much appreciated it seemed unusual to me to have the foot rim so had to have it even with the crack !! Ill get the glue out and have a go later;-)
