I am trying to identify these dolls. We know that they are around 60 plus years old and were regularly used by a great aunt for teaching children about different cultures.
Their bodies are a velvety type soft material and the heads have the same velvety feel but have a hard shape to them.
I would love to know who made them, where they are from etc.
Your dolls are made by Norah Wellings circa 1920s-50s, in Wellington, Shopshire, England. She is known for wonderful dolls created from velvet, velveteen, plush, and felt. Your dolls are made of velveteen. They are not in original clothes but I suspect may have had on straw hula type skirts when new . Very nice and Highly collectible in the doll world
Here is a link to read about them .

A example of one of her dolls . They vary a bit year to year but this may help also .
