This brass and wood tool is about 5 inches tall with a 5 inch wide handle. Three metal (steel?) rotating heads encircle a disk, which can also rotate. When we push up on the center disk (there is a spring inside the shaft), the outer heads close in on the center disk. The three outer disks are stamped R-94 and the handle has E.B.Co. or E.D.Co. burned into it.
My father-in-law loved tool swap meets and flea markets in Tacoma, WA - this item had a $50 price tag on it!
We can't wait to see what you all say it is!
I would say it is a twist capper but not for crown caps. Different type cap.
I would agree with fhrj2, some sort of seamer for a small can maybe?
I have seen similar items but they were made in Europe. I think Italy but not positive.
What is the diameter of the inner disk?
The outer lip of the inner disk is 1 and 5/8 inches (4.1 cm) and the interior channel of the disk is about 1 and 3/32 (3 cm).
