I am showing off my French tea set and other pieces. The French woman I bought it from told me she bought it in Vallauris where Picasso had a studio at one time. I know the tea pot is not the typical colors for Vallauris pottery but she said her brother lives there and she was staying with him when she bought it. The other two pieces look more typical. Next time I visit I think I will get a letter from her stating where she got these. Hopefully she has something else for me to buy!
I was told the basket was from the 50s. I tried to write everything down when I got home but I forgot some things. I will see her again though. Anyway, the tea set and the fish may be later... 60s or so. This woman has lived in the US for several years now and she has two containers left of stuff.. Oh how I want to pick both of them. :D
If any of you have pottery that is similar, I would love to see it.

Google "Vallauris red" and you will see this brown and red combo.

Wow! Thank you so much for the link. I thought typical Vallauris was brown and orange. These are my first pieces. I have a tiny black majolica piece from there too. That one is actually signed Vallauris. I have every intention of going back to see the French woman I met and buy her out! LOL I should be ashamed for not speaking French.. my picture posted is actually my great grandmother who was French. Anyway, thanks again for the cool link. I think it might become more collectible as the years go by.. I have another signed piece but I haven't looked it up yet. She said it came from the same area.. I'll post it now.
      Cheers!

Wow! Great! Nice link. Most of the pieces are not signed or maybe it rubbed off? ... but I will get the lady I bought them from to write something for me stating where she got them from. I guess they look typical enough though..

      Hi

      Came across your post.
My mum bought a set at Valauris in the 70s that looks very much like you tea set. It’s the genuine article I can vouch for it as it’s very familiar to me
