I have two ceramic or porcelain gold birds. There is a mark on the bottom of each but I cannot make it out. I was hoping for ideas on how to see the mark. I am using a lighted 30X magnification. Sad but true! Thanks to Racer4 I have now added this better image of the mark on the bottom.

Is the mark painted on or incised?
If incised you may be able to rub something into it (we use Vegemite here!) to darken it to help.

They re gorgeous and look really well made.

Hi racer4, I don't happen to have any vegemite laying around since I'm in the US...it hasn't quite caught on here. ;) But, I am thinking of what else I might use. Ok, I used molasses and took a picture through a loupe. It is much more visible but I have no idea what it says or means. Thank you, for the complement on these and thanks for making me feel welcome in this group!

Thanks, idcloisonne. I have seen some but none exactly like mine. The eyes are different...

Wow! Thank you, idcloisonne. You are super nice. I love the information and the case can now be closed. I appreciate the time you took to find the match. You are terrific! :)
