Pulled Drape Bowl marked M

This bowl is made of clear crystal with pulled blue decor. The base has a flat cut and snap pontil and an acid etched "M" in the center. The mark and the glass are familiar but we just can't put our finger on it, we've scoured our library but have either missed something or its not there. It has a quality feel and must be a notable maker. Our instincts say possibly French?
