Here's a near mint menu board marked Robertson 4-63, which I picked up for full book value delivered off a negotiated eBay BIN deal.
The chalk menu boards for the most part don't command the prices of the earlier wood boards or tin sign cousins. This Arciform (Fishtail) version joins my 1940 Silhouette Girl menu board as the two in my collection. (?This completes my menu board collection?)
A couple cool features here: Manufacturers date is month/year of my birth. Also, I found a large thumbprint embedded in the surface of the sign section. Presumably original to the menu board being handled during the finishing process back in April of '63. Sweet!
"Thumbs Up" to that idea!
Well, the FBI office in Detroit was no help. The lady who answered the phone said all agents were busy investigating something called "Domestic Terrorism". Our taxpayer dollars at work! I guess this means I'll have to go straight to the D.C. bureau...
Oh now you tell me!!! ;0)
Love that the date is same as your b-day! I need to try that on one piece. Also, the fingerprint thing is something I did not know until I read this. Thanks!!
Thanks CokeKid for your comments.
