Identifying Kent Art Ware it is straightforward enough since each and every piece is stamped on the bottom, "Kent Art Ware - Japan". It was produced for a relatively brief period during the 1930s and before Japan's 1941 involvement in the Second World War. Kent Art Ware was exported exclusively to the USA. It is virtually never offered for sale elsewhere.

Very interesting post. You hear a good bit about Japanese export-only items after the war--toys, etc.--but not so much from this era.
