This necklace has that Victorian Era appeal to it. I'm not positive of it's age only because I don't know if it was bought new in 1920 or if it was a hand-me-down when it was given as a gift.
My grandfather gave this to my grandmother when she graduated high school, in Portland Maine, which I figured to be about 1920.
They were married soon after and moved to California in about 1950. My birthstone is Aquamarine, which would be nice if that's what the stone here is but I believe this to be Blue Topaz. Close right!?!
Beautiful share and story! I believe that stone is either Topaz or Spinel. Not sure..but lovely!
Thank you Lee, I am lucky to have this with the story too! I miss my grandmother and whenever I see this or wear it, it's been a while, it brings a great feeling! :)
Thanks again Lise...another one I missed the thanks on! Yikes...
So, late yes but the thanks are the same :)
