This Teddy is made from lambs wool and was made during WW2 ,when toys were in short supply so people made items from what ever they could get hold of. I purchase the bear some 20 years ago and it became the shops mascot , so during the 2009 flood the Teddy was left in the shop window to show people we were going to return after the shop had been repaired .
Over the years I have had several people wanting to buy it and during the flood/ recovery period had people trying find where i live so they could make an offer on the teddy and all they wanted to do was give Teddy a new home . But Teddy is here to stay !
Ps. as I`m writing this in the shop a little girl with her dad has come in for a look round ,on the way out her dad pushes her towards my desk to ask a question which was " during the flood you had a teddy in the window ,what happen to teddy ",I turn my lap top round so she can read my text then I point to the shelf where teddy is sitting one very happy little girl !
It's funny how such things like your teddy bear become the most prised and precious items of all 'stuff' because off time and the history.....lovely story..thank you for sharing.....:-)
What a special story and hope you keep it pinned to him so the story stays with him for next generation. Thanks for sharing him :-))
