Very large Retro lamp with a very nice funky looking ceramic base to it. Assuming must be from around the late 60's and 70's era as a lot of lamps had the brass metal bottoms. I can not find any marks, but the metal bulb holder at the top is marked Canada......but I see nothing on the ceramic part. Not sure what the *animal* are/suppose to be......Cats ?? Stylized cats ?? Whole lamp is large as it comes up higher than my waist with the shade on, and the ceramic part is quite large and bulbous too. I did take the lamp off the brass base for marks -- but none to help
For some funny reason, there was something about it that caught my attention -- like I had seen something like it before on-line or something? Any ideas? There was JUST something about it..................Hm-m-m-m. Pretty sure they are Old, and not some new to look old.
Wish I had a PAIR!!
Wonderful! The colors and patterns reminds me of indian pottery, from around Acoma new Mexico. The rest of the lamp and the finish doesn't, but I wonder if the maker was inspired by indian pottery. Might be a lead... Maybe you can also find an answer to what animal it is by searching the net for patterns of indian pottery. Just an idea.
hi, your lamp is a lot like a covered ceramic pot I have and it is labeled Ukrainium Art and signed by the artist. It also has the cats and is the same colors as your lamp. (Would send a photo but can't see where I could do that)
