When my mother-in-law died, we girls were allowed to choose items from her jewelry box to keep. Though they were not Catholic, this was in there - I think it is so neat and when it is closed, it just looks like a rose. I have no idea how old it is and it is really tiny - about 1/2 inch in diameter. I love miniature things and the details are really nice. I imagine it will look even better when the silver is cleaned. :)
