I just got these chairs from a flea market - caning on the back is perfect - no tears. Seats have original upholstery that needs to be redone. The body of the chairs is wood (looks like Oak) under the green-blue paint. Pretty heavy and sturdy. They have to be re-lacquered as well. The front feet have brass covers - really neat. Just need to be polished.
There is a maker's mark on the underside - but I did research online and there is nothing about the furniture company out of North Carolina. The paper that is attached to the bottom indicating the maker, also mentions furniture regulations from 1928/9.
All in all once redone they will be very unique and nice.
Does anyone know the period, anything more about them or how much they may be worth now and redone?
Thanks!
