Very pleased with This récent buy for $52 (!)
Bronze and ivory face, 4" tall. Hole at front base is for the push button to ring an Electric bell, hole at back for the wire.
Found an old wood and bone bell push and will try to restore...
Found nothing about Loder and the foundry mark (k within a horseshoe)
Think Austrian or German.
Any idea?
Thanks Vetraio, Toracat and Aghcollect for your loves :-)
stunning!!
Thank you so much Phil!
And thanks Sean too! ;-)
your very welcome darling!!! ;)
hi kyra i have the "bible" of brian catley "art deco and other figures"
for now i dont have seen your figure, look to H.KECK, ALEX KELETY. they have some similar child figures.
just a question are you sure that you figurine is an original? "ivoirine" the "ivory" face dont look very well done should be " ivoirine" a sinthetic material with ivory powder.
( regardes stp kype a la loupe si tu vois de petites veines verticales bien serrées, c'est toujours le cas sur l'ivoire)
Sure! It has the crosshatch grain on the cheeks!
Original for sure too, as not only a figurine but a "sonnette de table"
I had the book, but it is mainly for high end sculptors...(I gave it to friends who hold a shop at Saint-Ouen market)
There is another figure from Loder on Ebay just now, a girl, lacking ivory hands...
Thanks Mikko
Saw two others, same marks!
