I have no idea if this is silver or not. I am a novice and would like to understand the values of things.... I took a pic of the markings in the picture 2 - HELP?!! its approx. 10 to 12 inches by 6 - 7 inches and around1 1/2 inch deep with rope edging. I have know idea but this is something.
Should I polish it or leave it alone. ?
Its so heavy and quite pretty- but there are signs of wear (no deep scatches)
    thanks so much

MIDDLETOWN SILVER CO - Middletown, CT
Business opened in the old building of Middletown Plate Co when it was taken by International Silver Co. The firm was still active in 1940s.

It's silver electroplated copper. I personally keep my silver clean and polished, using it helps. Thanks for sharing.
