a pewter dish who is probably from the 18th before the european wars when pewter was replaced by majolica dishes, pewter was used for military needs... i think this survived beaucaus lot of monastery and closter have pewter vessels.

maybe somone have a good book to identify the maker an can help-)
it should be a pewter master from strasbourg.

Quite a few makers had an angel with a sword and a scale in each hand as a quality mark. My guess is that the inscription says "ADRIAN KLINGLING" with "FEIN" below and "BLOCK ZINN" at the bottom. (Fine Pewter)
Adrian Klingling became a meister in Frankfurt 1744 and lived between 1714-1755. In that case your guess sounds good, except Frankfurt rather than Strasbourg, (Even though Strassbourg probably also was German at that time.)
