Found this today, edges curved around to back of sign (if put on side would like a long "C". About 4' long. Wanted $350. Did NOT buy. Found another one today just like it, same size, much better condition, but the other sign did not have "sing of good taste." Was asking $100 for that one. Looked in the book, could not find either. Any thoughts? thx.
My personal taste is that I don't mind a little damage around the edges of old Coca-Cola signs, but stay away from anything where the logo is significantly obscured. Like everything else in life, there are exceptions. Like a rare, early sign. "Sign of Good Taste" dates this one to around 1957.
@daddy thx again for the tip. any way to tell if its a fantasy? based on your knowledge is it something you've seen before that's genuine?
Yes absolutely it's an authentic sign. It looks to be what's commonly referred to as a "sled sign" because of it's shape.
