Gilmores Band items from his career

Item 1 P S Gilmore's First Sett , Instructional book for Cornet in bB {B Flat} published in 1859 , Boston by Gilmore and Russell . This was one of the first Instructional books produced and is important in the development of Music in the USA.
Item 2 "When Johnny comes Marching Home " 1863 , Civil War . Written by P S Gilmore it remains one of the most popular songs from that period .
Item 3 A maple pressed medal from the 1869 National Peace Jubilee in Boston , an event organised by Gilmore to celebrate the end of the Civil War over 5 days of concerts in a building that seated 50,000 . Gilmores event was an astounding success and was attended by President Grant and cabinet . The medal for P S Gilmore is also from this event and sold as a token .
Item 4 " Artists of the Jubilee Tour " Concert Program 1889 . All Gilmore programs were written by PS Gilmore himself and very newsy about Music developments , the history of the band , and other topical issues of the day . More items and pictures can be seen in my Facebook pages .
