I'm looking for info on this beautiful Sapphire Blue oil lamp I recently acquired. I would like to know what glass company made it and when it may have been made? Thanks

Beautiful Lamp from the 1890's or earlier. I've seen this pattern before (possibly sold one) and after looking through tons of lamp reference material, I still haven't found the maker. My gut feeling (not worth much) is that it could be by U.S.Glass. Sorry I can't help more. RER(BOB)

Thanks for the info Bob. I was thinking it could be from at least the 1890's by the way it was made and the look of the glass. I really love the color!

I tracked my eBay listing in 2012 (from feedback received) of this Lamp and although I can't see the original listing description, this was my title; 1890's U.S.Glass Company -Rare BLUE "CROSS DIAMOND BAND" Pattern Table Oil Lamp (#350545465955). I sometimes named lamps that I couldn't find the OMN (original Maker's Name) but I would not have guessed or invented info. on the maker. I cannot for the life of me locate the info. that it was made by U.S. Glass. RER(BOB)
      PS: It sold for $63.00US

That's great Bob! Thanks for taking the time to help me out with this. I mainly collect colored glass antique insulators and I am familiar with the oil lamps that were made by the Hemingray glass co around the 1880'-90's. I knew this lamp wasn't Hemingray, but I loved the color and design I had to have it. It's nice to know more about its history now. I really appreciate it!

Hi H.G.Co. 162! I found the actual info. and it's from a U.S. Glass Catalogue page included in Catherine Thuro's "OIL LAMPS" The Kerosene Era In North America Reference Book on page 315(h). It states that it was made in Clear, Blue and Amber. All the info. above is correct. BOB

That's great to know Bob! Thanks again for taking the time to help me! I thought I had seen one if these in clear before. The design looks a little familiar. The blue is wonderful! I can't wait to research the U.S. Glass co more and see all the types of glass products they made. Thanks, Michael
