One just sold on ebay -- http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?campid=5336606877&toolid=10013&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2F180531565865

As an ex-cookie jar collector with all my cookie jar books packed away, I'm not sure exactly which importer company had this little cutie, but it is a JAPAN piece.

I think the price was soft -- but they misspelled their title, and had a bad description, and only one pic -- it's a hard-to-find jar. Also, summer listings aren't the best idea.

Hi I was the buyer on ebay and knew it was a good find. Hope someone finds it in their reference book and can clue me in! Thanks Ms Dow!

argghhh! I just brought back a cookie jar book to the library! When I go back I will flip thru it again and see if it is in there.....

It's 1960s not 40s as it was listed & also just named "Chef" 10"tall, Japanese & marked with in ink stamped on bottom"Japan". Found in Warmen's Cookie Jars & book price at $175, but jars & collectibles are down along with the economy of coarse.
