When did I start using the phrase "How much for all of them?" I have done it twice in two days!
(Side note: I do use the phrase "I'd like to buy a round.")
I saw this box full of postcards, advertising pictures (lots of coffee, pianos, baking soda, corsets etc) and some Valentines.
Most are dated 1896 to 1922, although I am still digging into them, trying to decipher handwriting on postcards and all that.
I went well beyond my $5 rule but guesstimate that are 150 to 200 items here. So $55 divided by 200 equals...
Anyone know more?
PS can't get my photos to turn and it is ticking me right off!
Finally! A good pic of you.
Haha! After yesterday's BBQ just might need a corset!
very nice Amber!! you didn't cross your eyes when you eat that hot dog?
Cha Cha! Cracking me up!
Mines a pint!
Beautiful picture of the corset, poor women those days!
Great collection & I agree with Agram.m regarding wearing corsets!
You have some top paper pieces that seem to be in really good condition, it's a wonder you haven't run out of room with all your different finds but when you get the bug it's hard to say no to something that you like.
Corsets would not be a fun wear. I keep thing of the scene where Scarlett is getting cinched in for an 18" waist. Where do her internal organs go?
Thank you all for the fun comments and loves. I always appreciate them!
Very nice find, Amber. I bought a box of postcards myself a couple of weeks ago, with some Tom Mix arcade cards, and a couple of valentines. It also has a bunch of French postcards (unused), with pictures from Egypt. Looks to be 1900s to 1930s. Most all of the used ones came from the same family, start at 1901 and go to 1988. From my geek side, if you have a Windows PC, I use Windows Live Photo Gallery to turn my pics, crop, etc. It's free, and works well. It's always fun to fine a new avenue for collecting.
OUCH -- on the waist thing!!
Those poor ladies back then. to be all prim and proper -- all day
Oh love your post, adorable ephemera ;)
Thanks for the love and nice comments everyone.
