Brother's Leather covered bottle with wooden stopper.

G'day again!
So I was visiting my brother-in-law and told him about my leather bottle and he dragged this one out of his cupboard. He said that it was his father's scotch bottle that he remembered him using it nearly 20 years ago.
It is very different to mine as it has a wooden stopper with a little brass knob on the top and a sticker on the base to state that it was made in Italy. His father had been in Italy during WW2 so we have a rough idea as to it's age.
Does anyone know the history of such bottles, we are very curious.
