Found this at a Flea Market recently... Does look very old.... There are brass findings all along the edges of the chair. It measures 12" high and the seat is an 8" square. The back measurement from the seat up is 7". The seat lifts up to a storage compartment. The storage area is 6 1/2" square and is 1 1/2" high.
Can anyone tell me where it may have originated from and maybe the value..... thanks so much...
Could it be a jewelry box, trinket box, don't know....
It looks like something a salesman would have carried around with him (in ye olden days) to demonstrate the design and function of a piece of furniture he would be trying to sell from town to town. I think they have a specific name...I don't know it.
